Mining Blast Hole Drilling

Drill Pattern Mark Out/Survey
As shown here a GPS System is attached to the drill mast to ensure accurate drill collars location. The GPS unit also provides important data in terms of specific gravity of the rock mass being drilled, void intrusion and final hole depths.

For any of these services call Glenn on 021 855 963

"Clay Birds"
As shown here "Clay Birds" are used to mark out drill hole collars if the GPS is unavailable at the time.

Drill Hole Collaring/Drilling
Depending on the amount of sub-drill used in the previous blast drill hole collars need to be lined with damp paste like material. This material is used to hold & secure any lose rock fragments around the hole collar.
Inline can provide small & large diameter blast hole drilling. For production type drilling hole diameters range from 89mm - 200mm.

Hole Cups
Once the blast hole has been drilled it is vital that a hole cup is placed in the drill hole to ensure no heavy materials are washed into the drilled hole during inclement weather.
The hole cup also protects the collar and ensures the drilled hole remains open ready for loading with explosives.
