Electronic Initiation

Technology has become a major partner when it comes to blast optimisation and vibration control.
Many years ago shot firers often used e-dets (electric detonators) or detonating cord and "cap & fuse". Still these items are used today but the shot-firer understands how they work and where he/she can make best use of them.
From here we saw the introduction of Nonel or Non Electric initiation systems which are much more versatile and safer to use. Nonel products are also reasonably cost effective but one must be aware of the cost of the surface connector as well as the in hole detonator and lead in line.

For the last ten years or so there has been many Electronic Detonators on the market that have been unsuccessful when it came to reliability and ease of use. Today there are at least three Electronic Detonators on the market that provide reliability, ease of use and amazing results.
Many people do not like change am I am one of them but once you have the correct blast design that works for your site it is time to take the next step by using Electronic Initiation as your last step to blast optimisation.
